Pilgrim, Gray. "Communism Vs Capitalism ."Buzzel.com. Web. 10 Oct 2010. .

Communism Vs Capitalism is what caused the cold war, it is such a big part of our world. Pilgrim gives us a great explanation of the pros and cons of both. How pure Capitalism brings out the worst in people, but pure Communism is in-achievable because it goes against human nature, thats why in BNW they have to condition the clones so that they know their place and never over step their bounds. After a world of Capitalism in BNW they got to the point of Communism of a sort, where everyone had a place, almost like a hive. In this world there is almost no individuality, b/c individuality must be taken away for Communism to work. This may sound like a broken record but Is Individuality too high a price for World peace?

Smith, Rick. "Technology vs. Ethics...Where do YOU draw the line."The Alaska Hunting Forum. Alaska Outdoor Supersite, 15/12/2004. Web. 10 Oct 2010. .

In Mr Smith's, who is a modern day big game hunter in Alaska, blog post on the Alaska hunting forum, he asks when do we draw the line w/ technology and ethics. He states lots of new gadgets that can be used when hunting and how they apply to his ethics. Some people, however, can't apply their gadgets to their ethics. In BNW they take away many of the ethics that we would use today w/ the increase of technology. Like cloning, people today would say its unethical, but in BNW they would say it is b/c it stabilized the world state and did many good things making life easier and more efficient. Technology and Ethics can go hand in hand, but they are also almost complete opposites, they must be balanced, but where are they balanced?

Stossel, John. "Taxing the Rich The trouble with progressive economics." 30 Sep. 2010: 2. Web. 10 Oct 2010. .

Stossel brings up many things about how the rich are taxed now. They are taxed mountains and for being successful to pay for the poor, so isn't that an incentive to not be successful? Why would they do that? Obama has many taxes set in place and is implementing new ones to take from the rich and give to the poor, like Stossel says, its a noble concept but its not practical.  "Taxes discourage wealth creation", is the government trying to even the playing field w/ more taxes for the rich? In BNW everyone is equal, there is no poor or rich class, only Alpha through Epsilon. in the "brave new world" of BNW there aren't any taxes, no wealth barriers at all, and from the way their society works, they are better off for it.

Suzuki, D.T. "Stories of the Human Spirit ." Wisdom Portal. N.p., 1909. Web. 10 Oct 2010. .

This is an interestingly relevant concept. Suzuki talks about how as technology takes more of a hold on the human mind, the human mind becomes more indifferent and the human mind loses its sense of creativity and imagination. In BNW the populace has lost its sense of individualism, they have become part of a system that keeps going round. Instead of being creative and exploring new things, the human race has ground to a halt of pure stability, there isn't anymore adventure, its all a circle.

Tierney, John. "Are Scientists Playing God? It Depends on Your Religion ." New York Times November 20, 2007, Print.

Many people have different views on Stem Cell Research, God, and Science in general. In his N.Y.T.'s, which is a good source of current trends in just about everything, article, Mr. Tierney gives us some examples, that really don't seem that biased, of those many different views. Most especially about Cloning. With modern advances in technology the research for cloning has gone way up.  Just think what would happen if someone actually perfected it, we could cure cancer, give war veterans back their legs, give a child blind from birth new eyes. But there is one BIG problem in this world today that makes such a venture almost unthinkable. Clashing Beliefs. Everyone has a right to his or her opinion, and most have an opinion on cloning. Tierney gives plenty of examples of those opinions, and one of the big ones is, like his title says, "Are Scientists Playing God?", and it really does depend on your religion.

Cloning seems to be a taboo in western culture, thats because based on Western Religion cloning is like playing God, and thats not right in their culture. I think this makes a really good debate because there are so many sides to it. In the book we are reading, A Breve New World, they have switched entirely to cloning to "stabilize" their population. Thats what brings me to this article, in BNW they have taken away almost all of todays ethics, or what we would think as ethics. They have taken away emotion and individuality for stability and "happiness". Tierney gives good examples of what was hindering this from becoming a reality, religion.  Maybe its good, maybe its bad, but its what we have to live with so we got to make it work.
